[ঢাকা, ০১ ডিসেম্বর, ২০২১]- গোপালগঞ্জের টুঙ্গিপাড়ায় জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের সমাধিতে শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করেছেন বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগের নব-মনোনীত সভাপতি মণ্ডলীর সদস্য, রাজশাহী সিটি কর্পোরেশনের মেয়র এ এইচ এম খায়রুজ্জামান লিটন। বুধবার দুপুরে দলীয় নেতা কর্মীদের সাথে নিয়ে বঙ্গবন্ধুর সমাধিসৌধে পুষ্পস্তবক অর্পণ করেন তিনি। পরবর্তীতে, তিনি স্বাধীনতার মহান স্থপতি বঙ্গবন্ধুর প্রতি গভীর শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদনের অংশ হিসেবে সেখানে কিছু সময় নীরবে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকেন। পুষ্পস্তবক অর্পণের পর বঙ্গবন্ধু ও তাঁর পরিবারের সকল শহীদদের আত্মার মাগফিরাত কামনায় দোয়া এবং মোনাজাত করা হয়।
শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন শেষে আওয়ামীলীগের সভাপতিমণ্ডলীর সদস্য এ এইচ এম খায়রুজ্জামান লিটন বলেন, “জাতির জনকের সুযোগ্য কন্যা মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী জননেত্রী শেখ হাসিনা আমাকে উপমহাদেশের সবচেয়ে প্রাচীনতম এবং অন্যতম বৃহত্তর রাজনৈতিক দল বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামীলীগের সর্বোচ্চ স্তরের প্রেসিডিয়াম সদস্য হিসেবে মনোনীত করায় আমি অভিভূত। এই ঋণ আমি কোনোদিন শোধ করতে বা ভুলতে পারবো না।”
এই সময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন রাজশাহী মহানগর আওয়ামী লীগের ভারপ্রাপ্ত সভাপতি বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা মোহাম্মদ আলী কামাল; সাধারণ সম্পাদক মো: ডাবলু সরকারসহ মহানগর, থানা ও ওয়ার্ড আওয়ামী লীগের সর্বস্তরের নেতৃবৃন্দ। এছাড়া রাজশাহী-৫ (পুঠিয়া-দুর্গাপুর) আসনের সংসদ সদস্য প্রফেসর ডা. মনসুর রহমান; সংরক্ষিত নারী আসনের সাংসদ আদিবা আঞ্জুম মিতাসহ অন্যান্য নেতৃবৃন্দও উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
এরপর জেলা ও মহানগর যুবলীগ, স্বেচ্ছাসেবক লীগ, ছাত্রলীগ, মহিলা আওয়ামীলীগ, যুব মহিলালীগ, জাতীয় শ্রমিকলীগসহ অন্যান্য সহযোগী সংগঠনের সর্বস্তরের নেতাকর্মীদের সাথে নিয়ে পৃথক পৃথকভাবে জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের সমাধিতে পুষ্পস্তবক অর্পণ করেন আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতি মণ্ডলীর সদস্য এ.এইচ.এম খায়রুজ্জামান লিটন।
এছাড়া রাজশাহী সিটি কর্পোরেশনের কাউন্সিলর, কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীদের সাথে নিয়ে তিনি বঙ্গবন্ধুর সমাধিতে পুষ্পস্তবক অর্পণ করেন। এই সময় সিটি কর্পোরেশনের প্যানেল মেয়র-১ ও ১২ নং ওয়ার্ড কাউন্সিলর সরিফুল ইসলাম বাবুসহ সকল কাউন্সিলরবৃন্দ; প্রধান নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা ড. এ বি এম শরীফ উদ্দিন; সচিব মো: মশিউর রহমান; বিভাগীয় এবং শাখা প্রধানসহ অন্যান্য নেতৃবৃন্দ ও কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীগণ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
AHM Khairuzzaman Liton Pays Homage to the Father of the Nation at Tungipara
[Dhaka, 02 December, 2021]– AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation, a member of the newly elected Presidium of Bangladesh Awami League, paid homage at the tomb of Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara, Gopalganj. He, along with party leaders, laid wreaths at Bangabandhu’s mausoleum on Wednesday afternoon, December 01, 2021. Later, he stood in silence in honor of Bangabandhu, the great architect of our independence. After the wreath-laying, prayers were offered for the souls of Bangabandhu and all the martyrs of his family.
After paying respects, Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton said, “I am overwhelmed that Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the worthy daughter of the Father of the Nation, has nominated me as the chief presidium member of Bangladesh Awami League, the oldest and largest political party in the subcontinent. I will try my best to fulfil my responsibilities with the utmost integrity.”
Present at the occasion were Bir Muktijoddha Mohammad Ali Kamal, Acting President, Rajshahi Metropolitan Awami League; Md. Dablu Sarkar, General Secretary; Prof. Mansur Rahman, MP, Rajshahi-5 (Puthia-Durgapur) constituency; Adiba Anjum Mita, MP, Reserved Women’s Seat along with leaders of metropolitan police and Awami League ward.
AHM Khairzan, Presidium Member, Awami League along with leaders and activists of district and metropolitan Juba League, Swechchhasebak League, Chhatra League, Mahila Awami League, Juba Mahila League, Jatiya Sramik League and other allied organizations laid wreaths to pay their respects at the tomb of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
AHM Khairuzzaman Liton laid wreaths at the tomb of Bangabandhu along with counselors, officials and employees of Rajshahi City Corporation. Other counselors, including Sariful Islam Babu, Panel Mayor-1 of City Corporation and Counselor of ward 12; ABM Sharif Uddin, CEO, Rajshahi City Corporation; Md. Mashiur Rahman, Additional Secretary, Development Wing, Ministry of Home Affairs including departmental and branch leaders, officers and employees were present.
