গত ১৮ ডিসেম্বর ২০২৫ বাংলাদেশে একযোগে দেশের শীর্ষস্থানীয় সংবাদমাধ্যম প্রথম আলো, ডেইলি স্টার কার্যালয় এবং বাঙালির সাংস্কৃতিক ঐতিহ্যের কেন্দ্রবিন্দু ছায়ানটসহ দেশের বিভিন্ন স্থানে পরিকল্পিতভাবে ‘মব’ বা উন্মত্ত জনতা তৈরি করে হামলার ঘটনায় গভীর উদ্বেগ ও তীব্র নিন্দা প্রকাশ করেছে প্যারিস ভিত্তিক সংস্থা প্যারিসের জানালা / La Fenêtre de Paris।
একই সাথে জ্যেষ্ঠ সাংবাদিক ও ইংরেজি দৈনিক নিউ এজ (New Age) এর সম্পাদক নূরুল কবীরের ওপর বর্বরোচিত হামলার ঘটনায় তীব্র ক্ষোভ ও প্রতিবাদ জানিয়েছেন সংগঠনের প্রেসিডেন্ট ও কবি আবু জুবায়ের।
আজ প্যারিস থেকে পাঠানো এক বিবৃতিতে প্যারিসের জানালা / La Fenêtre de Paris-এর পক্ষ থেকে জানানো হয়, কোনো নির্দিষ্ট ইস্যুকে কেন্দ্র করে সাধারণ মানুষকে উস্কে দিয়ে দেশের প্রধান প্রধান সংবাদমাধ্যমের কার্যালয় ঘেরাও এবং সাংবাদিকদের ওপর আক্রমণ চালানো মুক্ত সাংবাদিকতা ও গণতন্ত্রের ওপর এক মরণঘাতী আঘাত। এই ধরনের ‘মব জাস্টিস’ বা বিচারহীনতার উন্মাদনা বাংলাদেশকে এক গভীর অন্ধকারের দিকে ঠেলে দিচ্ছে।
বিবৃতিতে সংগঠনের প্রেসিডেন্ট আবু জুবায়ের বলেন, “প্রথম আলো ও ডেইলি স্টারের কার্যালয়ে হামলা এবং নির্ভীক সাংবাদিক নূরুল কবীরের ওপর আক্রমণ বিচ্ছিন্ন কোনো ঘটনা নয়। এটি স্বাধীন মতপ্রকাশের টুঁটি চেপে ধরার এক সুগভীর ষড়যন্ত্র। একই সঙ্গে ছায়ানটের মতো প্রতিষ্ঠানকে লক্ষ্যবস্তু করা প্রমাণ করে যে, উগ্র মৌলবাদী গোষ্ঠীগুলো বাংলাদেশের হাজার বছরের সংস্কৃতিকে ধ্বংস করতে চায়। বাংলাদেশ আজ এক অসহিষ্ণু মৌলবাদী চাদরে ঢেকে যাচ্ছে, যা কোনোভাবেই কাম্য নয়।”
বিবৃতিতে ৪টি প্রধান দাবি উত্থাপন করে:
১. হামলাকারীদের দ্রুত গ্রেপ্তার: প্রথম আলো, ডেইলি স্টার, ছায়ানট এবং সাংবাদিক নূরুল কবীরের ওপর হামলার সাথে জড়িতদের ভিডিও ফুটেজ দেখে অনতিবিলম্বে গ্রেপ্তার ও দৃষ্টান্তমূলক শাস্তি দিতে হবে। ২. সংবাদমাধ্যমের নিরাপত্তা: প্রতিটি সংবাদমাধ্যমের কার্যালয় ও সাংবাদিকদের জীবনের নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করা রাষ্ট্রের সাংবিধানিক দায়িত্ব। ৩. সাংস্কৃতিক প্রতিষ্ঠান রক্ষা: ছায়ানটসহ সকল সাংস্কৃতিক কেন্দ্রের বিশেষ নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করতে হবে। ৪. মব কালচার দমন: আইন নিজের হাতে তুলে নেওয়ার এই যে ‘মব’ সংস্কৃতি দেশে শুরু হয়েছে, তা কঠোর হস্তে দমন করতে হবে।
প্যারিসের জানালা / La Fenêtre de Paris মনে করে, রাষ্ট্র যদি এখনই এই অরাজকতা থামাতে ব্যর্থ হয়, তবে আন্তর্জাতিক অঙ্গনে বাংলাদেশের ভাবমূর্তি চরমভাবে ক্ষুণ্ণ হবে। প্রবাসে অবস্থানরত লেখক, কবি ও সংস্কৃতিকর্মীরা এই সংকীর্ণ ও উগ্র জাতীয়তাবাদের বিরুদ্ধে ঐক্যবদ্ধ প্রতিরোধ গড়ে তোলার আহ্বান জানাচ্ছেন।

Strong condemnation of ‘Mob’ attacks on media outlets and cultural institutions: Protest by La Fenêtre de Paris
La Fenêtre de Paris (প্যারিসের জানালা), a Paris-based social and cultural organization, expresses deep concern and issues a strong condemnation regarding the planned attacks carried out by unruly mobs on December 18, 2025, targeting Bangladesh’s leading media outlets—Prothom Alo and The Daily Star—as well as the nation’s premier cultural hub, Chhayanaut, and various other locations across the country.
Simultaneously, the organization’s President, poet Abu Zubier, has expressed intense anger and protest over the brutal attack on the veteran journalist and Editor of the English daily New Age, Nurul Kabir.
In a statement issued today from Paris, La Fenêtre de Paris asserted that inciting the masses under the guise of specific issues to besiege the offices of major news organizations and attack journalists is a fatal blow to freedom of the press and democracy. This rise of ‘mob justice’ and lawless frenzy is pushing Bangladesh toward a state of profound darkness.
In the statement, President Abu Zubier said:
“The attacks on the offices of Prothom Alo and The Daily Star, and the assault on fearless journalist Nurul Kabir, are not isolated incidents. They are part of a deep-rooted conspiracy to throttle independent expression. Targeting institutions like Chhayanaut further proves that extremist groups intend to dismantle the thousand-year-old cultural heritage of Bangladesh. Today, the nation is being shrouded in an intolerant veil of fundamentalism, which is entirely unacceptable.”
The organization has put forward four key demands:
- Immediate Arrest of Attackers: Identify those involved in the attacks on Prothom Alo, The Daily Star, Chhayanaut, and journalist Nurul Kabir through video footage and ensure immediate arrest and exemplary punishment.
- Security of Media Outlets: It is the constitutional duty of the state to ensure the security of all media offices and the lives of journalists.
- Protection of Cultural Institutions: Special security measures must be implemented for Chhayanaut and all other cultural centers.
- Suppression of Mob Culture: The burgeoning ‘Mob Culture’ of taking the law into one’s own hands must be suppressed with an iron fist.
La Fenêtre de Paris believes that if the state fails to stop this anarchy immediately, the international image of Bangladesh will be severely tarnished. Expatriate writers, poets, and cultural activists are calling for a united resistance against this narrow-minded and radical nationalism.
